Appalachian Power offers way to save money

Appalachian Power is making it easy and free to lower energy use by scheduling an eScore Energy Assessment to get expert advice to boost home comfort and save costs throughout the year.

Energy advisers offer in-home and virtual appointments by logging on to app.aepinfo.com.

The company will throw in free, Energy Star-certfied LEDs and other efficiency upgrades as needed.

Once the assessment is complete, you can schedule upgrades, some of which are eligile for upgrades.

A smart thermostat comes with a $75 rebate. Air sealing can provide up to $150 in rebates. A 17-SEER air source heat pump can provide up to $400. Attic insulation can give up to a $400 rebate. A 19-SEER mini-split ductless system can be up to $675.

Homes must have electric heat to qualify for rebates.
