Apple tree grafting class set for April 10

An Apple Tree Grafting Class will be held at the Wytheville Farmers Market, 210 W. Spring Street, on Saturday, April 10, beginning at 10 a.m. 

The class is sponsored by the Wythe Bland Region Master Gardeners and will be conducted by David Danner and Hunter Romano. Participants will learn about the art of Whip grafts to start new apple trees and also Clef grafts to add different varieties into an existing apple tree. There is no charge to attend the class, but, if you want to do some grafting to take home, there is a cost of $3 per tree grafted by participants.
