ARC awards funds to art, history museum

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) awarded $50,000 to the Montgomery Museum of Art and History, in Christiansburg. U.S. Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

“ARC’s award of $50,000 to the Montgomery Museum of Art and History will be used to plan the museum’s expansion and upgrades. I am pleased to see this money help the museum achieve their goal of becoming a state of the art facility for the New River Valley.”

According to the Appalachian Regional Commission, this grant will help professionals and museum staff conduct more extensive research, generate a business plan, develop a conceptual design to transform the historic bank building into a state of the art museum, plan the marketing and fundraising tactics, and finalize the documentation of the full planning process.
