Armed robbery suspect arrested in Tennessee

A suspect in a robbery and a stolen vehicle was arrested in Tennessee and taken to the Sullivan County Jail on Dec. 29, according to law enforcement officers.

That morning, at 4:33 a.m., a white male pulled a handgun and demanded money from a clerk at the Speedway convenience store on Ready Mix Road in Wytheville, off Interstate 81.

The man left the store with an undisclosed amount.

During the investigation of the robbery, the male was linked to a stolen vehicle and a breaking-and-entering on West Ridge Road in Wytheville on Dec. 18. The stolen vehicle – a 2007 GMC Sierra – was involved in several larcenies in Wise County, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies identified Timothy Allen Sarver as the suspect. The Sheriff’s Office said in a release that Sarver was also suspected of crimes in Wise and Dickenson counties.

At 9:15 a.m., the Bristol, Tennessee, Police Department found Sarver at a garage on Volunteer Parkway. Police located the Sierra and another vehicle, thought to have been taken in Kingsport, Tennessee.

The Sheriff’s Office said evidence in the vehicles linked Sarver to the robery in Wythe County.
