E&H soccer crew keeps unbeaten streak alive

The Emory & Henry College Women’s soccer team kept its unbeaten streak alive as it went the full 110 minutes against Converse University for a 1-1 draw Wednesday afternoon.

The two squads battled for control during the first 45 minutes with the Valkyries out-shooting the Wasps, 3-1.
With 15:39 left in regulation, E&H won a penalty kick. Junior midfielder Grace Williams  was called upon to take the shot and converted it to put Emory & Henry ahead 1-0.
– Two and a half minutes later, Converse got the equalizer from Ellie Gore (77:00) Kiersten Schrawyer was credited with the assist.
– Both teams had chances in the final minutes to claim victory but the contest was bound for extra time.
– Action in the two overtime periods produced a single chance, a shot by Converse which hit the crossbar as the final score would remain 1-1.
