The Lincoln Memorial University Women’s Soccer Team (4-11, 3-8 SAC) defeated Emory & Henry College (2-11-2, 0-9-2 SAC) on Wednesday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action. The Railsplitters won the decision by a 4-0 score.
– The two teams traded scoring opportunities in the early stages of the first half, as the Wasps created two corner kick chances and fired two shots on frame. The LMU defense was up to the task and the score remained scoreless through the first 16 minutes of the game. The Railsplitters broke through on the scoresheet in the 17th minute with an unassisted goal from Ellie Snyder. Lincoln Memorial added a second goal in the 44th minute when Katherine Browning found the back of the net on an assist from Brooke Boucher to bring the match to its halftime score at 2-0.
– The Railsplitters added a third in the 64th minute behind an unassisted goal from Ryan Branson to increase their lead. LMU would tack on another in the 84th minute when Emma Snider scored on an assist from Alicia Bevins to run the score to its final at 4-0.
Junior forward Adrienne Harris ofHillsville led the Wasps offensive attack with three shots that were all on target.
