Grayson County’s girls made up for a low-scoring game against Rural Retreat to start the season, piling on the Holston Cavaliers Monday night, 52-15.
Led by Madey Phipps’ 29 points, the Blue Devils picked up an easy non-district victory.
The Grayson boys faced off against Carroll County and didn’t fare as well.
The Carroll Cavaliers whipped the Devils 55-39. Bryce Smoot dropped in 20 points for Carroll.
The Galax boys, led by 18 points from Adam Dillon, got by Christiansburg 53-51, improving the Tide to 2-0 on the season.
