The post-season in football has arrived.
Chilhowie, Fort Chiswell, Galax, George Wythe, Grayson County, Marion Senior and Rural Retreat high schools will all continue play past this weekend, hunting for a trip to the state championship.
This Friday, No. 1-seeded Grayson will play Giles at home at home. Should the Blue Devils win, they’ll play the winner of the Bath County and Galax game on Nov. 17 in the semifinals.
Galax will play at Bath County on Nov. 10.
Fort Chiswell travels to Narrows on Friday night while George Wythe will host Parry McCluer. The winners from each of those games will play in the semifinals.
In Region C, Rural Retreat will make a trek to Honaker to take on the No. 1-seeded Tigers in a re-match from the final game of the regular season. The winner of that game will take on either Patrick Henry or Grundy on Nov. 17. PH hosts Grundy Friday night.
Chilhowie will travel to Twin Springs for their first post-season appearance. If the Warriors win, they’ll likely face Rye Cove in the semifinals.
In Class 2, Marion Senior High School will play Gate City on the road Friday night. The winner of that game will likely face Graham on Nov. 17.
