Local students graduate from Radford University

Radford University presented 677 undergraduate and graduate degrees during the 2022 winter commencement exercises. On Dec. 9, 2022, graduate degrees were awarded and on Dec. 10, undergraduate degrees were awarded at the Dedmon Center on main campus in Radford, Virginia.

This ceremony marked the first for President Bret Danilowicz to confer diplomas for departing Highlanders. Graduates included:

Makaila Graceanna Caudill of Max Meadows, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies; Ramona Lynn Copenhaver of Max Meadows, who earned a Master of Science in Special Education; Jasmine Elizabeth Dudding of Bland, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology; Courtney Paige Harmon of Austinville, with a Certificate in Business Analytics; Hannah Elizabeth Hudson of Max Meadows, who earned Bachelor of Science in Communication; Devanie Jeanette Mullins of Austinville, with a Master of Science in Education; Caitlin Myers of Saltville, who earned a Bachelor of Science in English;William Bradley Norford of Wytheville, who received Bachelor of Science in Exercise, Sport, & Health Education; Erin Grace Poole of Wytheville, with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies; Ethan Walter Reynolds of Wytheville, who received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice; Kyle R Rivero of Marion, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Geology; Koebe Nash Russell of Wytheville, who earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management; Lukis J Sheckells of Speedwell, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration; Lauren Elizabeth Stuart of Rural Retreat, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences; and Samuel Trey Taylor of Max Meadows, with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.

Keynote speaker and alumna, Nicole Robinson ’02, president of Ursa Space Systems, left the graduates much to think about, saying,”When you leave here today, see this as the first step into your life unimagined. Be open to the potential, the adventure, the unanticipated opportunities ahead.”

Robinson advised. “Life is truly about what you can’t imagine. In fact, it isn’t even about what happens to you but more about how you respond.”
