Millwald announces masterclass prior to Buller show

The Millwald Theatre recently announced it had added a free masterclass on contemporary bluegrass with Mike Mitchell.

The class is set for April 12 at 1 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring their instrument and join the class on the Millwald Stage.

Later that evening, at 8 p.m., Mitchell will be opening for Becky Buller.

Mitchell is a singer/songwriter and fiddler in the contemporary bluegrass style. He is most influenced by 70’s J.D Crowe and The New South, Tony Rice, and Sam Bush.

As a recording artist, he has released 3 bluegrass albums, the second of which, “Small Town” debuted on Billboard at # 2.

His latest project, “Fathers & Sons” has enjoyed three Top-10 singles. The current one, “Love Of The Mountains” is on the Bluegrass Unlimited National Bluegrass chart at No. 7 while the album itself is in its seventh month on the same chart, at No. 6
