Missoula coming to the Millwald

Let your rising stars shine, parents.

The Millwald Theatre will hold auditions for the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of “Beauty Lou and the Country Beast” at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 19, at the theatre.

The production has roles for students entering first- through 12th-grades.

Around 50 to 60 local students will be cast for the show, and up to four students will be cast as assistant directors. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast. Those auditioning must arrive by 4 p.m. and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins 15 minutes after auditions.

Those looking to perform should arrive ready to have fun.

For those cast, rehearsals will be every day from 10 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. on the stage and in the downstairs classrooms at the Millwald. Cast members scheduled for the entire rehearsal time will be asked to bring a sack lunch or snack to be eaten during the break between sessions.

Public performances will be Friday, June 23, at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 24, at noon at the Millwald.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre’s Wytheville residency is made possible by a partnership between the Millwald and the Wythe-Bland Foundation.
