Money box stolen during Wytheville break-in

Video from outside Wytheville’s 4th Street Market shows two people walking away from the store’s back parking lot after the market was broken into on Feb. 6.

The Wytheville Police Department released two videos. On showed two people walking across the parking lot near the store with one carrying a sledgehammer. The second video shows one of the people carrying a sledgehammer and the other a money box believed to have been stolen during the 12:57 a.m. break-in.

Toward the end of the second video, a mid-sized dark sport utility vehicle is seen in the parking lot. The police said it isn’t known if the vehicle picked up those shown in the parking lot.

The Wytheville PD asks anyone with information on the market break-in to contact detective Darren Umberger at 276-223-3310 or via email at [email protected].
