River Turtles hiring for Calfee Park baseball season

Need a summer job?

Join the Pulaski River Turtles team. The newly named River Turtles are hosting a job fair on April 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to noon on April 24 at Calfee Park in Pulaski.

Those interested must be at least 16 years old.

Seasonal jobs include concessions, tickets, bat boys, Calfee girls, ushers and video production.

In March, the Appalachian League team picked Clark Crist of Phoenix, Arizona, as the new manager. Crist previously served as a national junior college cross checker for the Arizona Diamondbacks, overseeing all junior college prospects for the club.

“I am very excited to be a part of the inaugural season of the new Appalachian League,” Crist said. “It is an honor to be allowed to work with these young, talented college players, and I am thankful to Major League Baseball and USA Baseball for giving me this opportunity. My goal is to provide these athletes an understanding of the game while enhancing their abilities. I am also looking forward to working with the Pulaski ownership and front office and meeting the wonderful, supportive fans of the River Turtles!”

Games this season will be broadcast on ESPN Blacksburg, playing on the app and on 93.1 FM, 97.1 FM and 810 AM. Live broadcasts of the 54-game season will also be available at www.espnblacksburg.com.
