The event is sponsored by Truist Bank.

A limited number of 30 guests will enjoy an intimate evening of farm-to-table hors d’oeuvres prepared by the talented, Chef Josh Young with ingredients from right on the farm. Think tomatoes, peppers, squash, tomatillos, husk cherries and abundant herbs! Local wine and micro-brewed beer will also be offered and there will be live music. Tables will be set with an eclectic assortment of fine vintage and antique furniture, linens and dishware with floral centerpieces grown and arranged by the Stormbrew Crew.

Josh Young who formerly headed up Waterlily in downtown Marion, Virginia, now has a new project on the horizon; head chef at the upcoming Summers restaurant in historic downtown Abingdon. The unique restaurant will operate from the cellar and rooftop of the newly renovated Summers building and Josh will be serving up simply prepared, colorful, farm to table fare.

Guests that arrive by 6 p.m. can enjoy wine from Abingdon Vineyards or beer by Stormbrew before the farm tour begins. During the tour everyone will meander among the fields, flowers and vegetables, discussing Stormbrew’s no-till growing system and how ASD’s FARM Mentor/Intern program has benefited the farm this season. As guests and farm owners Daisy and Jenny stroll through the farm, Daisy and Jenny will collect various ingredients, fresh from the field, to be used by Chef Josh.

After the tour, guests and hosts will return to the barn and patio to embrace the flavors and variety of late summer vegetables with a tableside demonstration and further hors d’oeuvres. Ticket purchase includes two drinks. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available.

Agriculture entrepreneurs, Daisy and Jenny grow sustainably and lovingly grown cut flowers, vegetables and herbs in Southwest Virginia. They are passionate and dedicated to working alongside Mother Nature to grow their goods. That means companion planting, attracting beneficial insects, and mulching to control weeds. That also means no herbicides, insecticides, or fungicides. They grow for their family and for you. Learn more at: https://www.stormbrewfarm.com/home.
