Threat phoned into Wythe courthouse

Wythe County law enforcement on Tuesday investigated a bomb threat at the courthouse.

The Sheriff’s Office said an unidentified caller talked to a Circuit Court clerk, saying there was a bomb in the building.

The sheriff, in a press release, said the call came in just before 10 a.m.

After the buildings were evacuated, Virginia State Police canines searched for a bomb but found nothing, according to the release.

Officials are investigating the incident.
