The Warriors had a solid second half, outscoring Union 17-9 in the final frame, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a sluggish start and a powerful Bears crew during the Powell Valley National Bank Holiday Classic.
Union took the meeting 73-42.
Chilhowie was led by Noah Hill, who stroked a dozen points for the Warriors.
Meanwhile, John S. Battle avenged a loss from Marion, Claiming a 64-57 win over the Hurricanes.
Jack Ford lit the nets on fire for the Canes, pounding in 28 points in the loss. Parker Wolfe also had a big night, stroking 18.
The Lady Canes had better results with the Trojans, taking a 52-44 victory, led by Ella Moss’ 22 points.
Marion battled back from a six-point deficit, using a 20-4 run in the second stanza to claim the victory.
