‘Velveteen Rabbit’ hops across stages

The Barter Players are back with two performances of “The Velveteen Rabbit,” on Sunday, March 3, in St. Paul.

In a story beloved by children of all ages, the Velveteen Rabbit dreams of becoming a real live rabbit, but the wise old Skin Horse tells him he will only become real, “When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but really loves you.” Based on the book by Margery Williams, this moving and joyful production has been adapted for the stage by Catherine Bush. The Barter Players will give two performances of “The Velveteen Rabbit” on Sunday, March 3, 2 p.m. at Lyric Theater in St. Paul, and 7 p.m. at Lee Theatre in Pennington Gap. Children and students are free to attend both performances, and adult tickets are $15 at the door. Find more information and make reservations to attend at proartva.org.
