Wasp swimmers break records

The Emory & Henry College Women’s Swimming Team started its 2021-22 season over the weekend at the King University Early Season Invitational. The Wasps finished 12th out of 12 competing teams.
Freshman Paige Gelenski gave E&H its best finish of the weekend, taking fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (2:18.11). She was also 12th in the 400-yard individual medley, clocking a 5:02.13.


The Emory & Henry College Men’s Swimming Team broke 11 school records on its way to a fifth-place finish at the TYR Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College over the weekend.

In the first event of the weekend, E&H grabbed the record for the 50-yard freestyle during freshman Corey Kidd’s leadoff leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay. Kidd started the race off in :21.74 leading the Wasps to a sixth-place finish.
– Kidd also posted two other records on the weekend, winning the 100-yard freestyle in :46.07 and taking fourth in the 100-yard backstroke (:52.39).
