Wayne Weekend offers free tours, film, music

Don’t miss a film screening every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lincoln Theatre on June 20.

The film, by Appalshop’s Shawn Lind, is part of Wayne Weekend, and focuses on the Rubgy musician and luthier.

“From Wood to Singing Guitar” is a chance for those who can’t make it to Grayson County to watch a master practice his craft and play his songs.

The event is free.

Also during Wayne weekend, tour the lutherie at The Henderson in downtown Marion from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At 7 p.m., catch Bill and Maggie Anderson, free, at Hungry Mother State Park.

On Saturday, tours of the lutherie continue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., followed by free live music, pottery demos, and instrument collaging at The Ford Studios in Marion from noon to 6 p.m. From 6 to 9 p.m. there will be a cruise-in featuring Victor Lawson at the Marion Farmers Market stage.

On Sunday, celebrate Father’s Day with brunch and more live music, pottery demos and instrument collaging at The Ford Studios from noon to 6 p.m. Lutherie tours at The Henderson will be from 1 to 5 p.m., with the film showing every hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lincoln.

On Monday, tours at the lutherie will frun from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a Monday Night Jam at The Henderson kicking off at 6 p.m.
