Wolford newest mortgage professional at First Community Bank

Janet Wolford knows there’s a special reward that comes with helping someone settle into a home that fits just right. She enjoys it so much, that’s where she settled into a career.

The Wythe County native is First Community Bank’s newest mortgage professional serving the Wytheville and Fort Chiswell market. Here, she specializes in working with hopeful home owners on a mission to secure the homes of their dreams, whether they’re on missions to begin new journeys, retire into golden years or refinance the havens they’ve loved for years.

With an associate’s degree in business administration from Wytheville Community College, Wolford has served as a paralegal, a bank branch leader, a realtor, and a small business lender for First Community Bank before her most recent career change, shifting focus to join the Mortgage Administration Team at FCB.

In this position, Wolford said she’s eager to “share my years of professional experience in lending and real estate with my customers.”

Bank leaders are confident she’ll be ideal for the job and the region.

“We are excited to have Jan join our Mortgage team! With her previous lending experience and strong connection with the Wytheville community, we are looking forward to assisting many new and existing customers with their mortgage needs,” First Community Bank Vice President and Mortgage Executive Susan McManaman said.

Valley Division Market President Jeremy Hoard agreed.

“Jan’s experience, professionalism, and dedication to the community make her the perfect person to help our customers with their home-financing needs,” he said.

Away from work, Wolford said commitment to family helps her find focus on the importance of home. She credits her husband, Tony, and adult sons, Todd and Brandon, with helping her achieve the success she’s found professionally and personally.

Animals are also close to Wolford’s heart, as is clear in her longtime commitment to Friends Wythe K9s and Felines and the Wythe-Bland Animal Welfare League.

Wolford will work primarily from the Wytheville office at 210 East Main Street. She may be reached at (276) 223-2213.
