Hazardous household waste collection day set in Smyth

Got hazardous household waste?

Smyth Career and Technology Center has a solution.

On April 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the center will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day, with drop-offs at the Seven Mile Ford school.

Accepted items include paint, polish, varnish, and paint-related materials; turpentine, adhesives, aerosol cans, and house hold cleaners; motor oil, antifreeze, fuel additives, gasoline, and transmission fluid; batteries, mercury, florescent light bulbs; and pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, and pool chemicals

Commercial and industrial waste, 55 gallon drums of materials, radioactive materials, explosives, bullets and tires are not accepted.
