Just after midnight on Friday, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies, joined by Abingdon Police officers, responded to a home on Shelton Drive in Abingdon in response to a call about a man with a laceration to his throat.
The Washington County Life Saving Crew rendered first aid on the scene, taking the victim to Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred to Johnson City Medical Center in Tennessee, where he was released.
Sierra Gobble, 28, of Abingdon was charged with aggravated malicious wounding in the attack. She is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail facility in Abingdon without bond.
