Just after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, Marion Fire/EMS was dispatched to a structure fire at the corner of Pearl and Walnut streets. Upon arrival, crews found the single family house fully involved, and battled the blaze to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent houses. Despite all efforts, the house was a total loss, but no one was injured and the fire was contained to the one house. Cause has not been determined at this time, and the fire remains under investigation, but no foul play is suspected.
