Construction will limit access to the Max Meadows Trash & Recycling Center Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 through Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022.
The facility will still operate its normal business hours, but county employees and vendors will be removing an old trash compactor and installing a new one. Trash collection at the site will be slower while work is ongoing.
“This short-term inconvenience will ensure serviceable equipment for county residents in Max Meadows, giving more reliable trash removal service with new equipment,” said Wythe County Public Information Officer Elizabeth Sweeney. “Please be mindful of the workers helping make the location function better.”
Residents who use the Max Meadows location still can take it to the center, but are encouraged to take it to another Wythe County Trash & Recycling Center. The closest Wythe County Trash & Recycling Center to the Max Meadows location is located in Fort Chiswell on U.S. Route 52 below Ft. Chiswell High School, or at the transfer station on Kent’s Lane.
