Due to ongoing concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Wytheville Community College (WCC) has cancelled the Annual WCC Halloween Celebration for 2020.
The decision to cancel the event comes as recommendation from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) have indicated that such events may
increase the potential spread of COVID-19.
“Though we thoroughly enjoy having the Halloween celebration each year, it is important that our community stays safe and healthy,” said Dr. Dean E. Sprinkle, WCC President.
The WCC Halloween Celebration has been sponsored by WCC student clubs for several years and generally attracts several hundred people annually. WCC hopes to host the event in the future when it is safe to do so.
