Doughboys hammer River Turtles

The hits were fast and furious last Wednesday.

Thirty-two combined hits scored 35 combined runs with Johnson City’s Doughboys coming away with the 22-13 win over the Pulaski River Turtles.

Johnson City came out of the gates swinging, scoring five runs in the top of the first. Pulaski would cut that lead down to two thanks to a three-run moonshot from catcher Ryan Johnson, making it 5-3 after one. Johnson City would put up another run in second, but a Johnson RBI single would negate that run.

Success would continue for Johnson City as they would score two runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. Pulaski would try to get back in the game, with a three-run sixth and two-run seventh.

Johnson City would then score an insurance run in the eighth to make the final 22-13.
