E&H earns road win over Shenandoah

The Emory & Henry College Women’s Tennis Team (2-1) evened its Old Dominion Athletic Conference record at 1-1 Saturday afternoon, defeating Shenandoah University (0-2, 0-2 ODAC) by an 8-1 score.
E&H got out to a 3-0 lead through the doubles portion of the match. Sophomore Payton Holt (Mount Ulla, N.C.) teamed up with freshman Tess Flanigan (Marietta, Ga.) at No. 1 doubles to win, 8-1 while junior Cailie Pollard (Rural Retreat, Va.) and sophomore Sarah Marion (Dobson, N.C.) won, 8-2, at the third doubles flight.
In singles, Holt grabbed a 6-1, 6-1 win at the top flight while Flanigan was victorious, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 2 singles. Junior Logan Graham (Radford, Va.) and Pollard won their matches at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, without dropping a game.
