E&H golfers finish eighth

The Emory & Henry College men’s golf team finished in eighth place out of 12 competing teams at the Tusculum Invitational Tuesday. The Wasps were the only non-scholarship program in the field.Senior Christofer Schaff led the Wasps with a four-over par 76 in the second round, moving up 23 places to finish tied for 20th. Fellow senior Wesley Jones tied for 18th after carding an 81 on Tuesday.

In 33rd place was Isfandyar Khan, who shot an 82. Junior Alex Cameron tied for 43rd with an 84. Sophomore Chase Maddox shot a 92 on day two to finish in 60th.Tusculum won the tournament by 20 strokes at +13, scoring a 589 (286-303) ahead of Lenoir-Rhyne University’s +33 (299-310 – 609). TU’s Liam van Deventer claimed medalist honors after shooting a -1 (71) on Tuesday, topping L-R’s Liam Waldron by six strokes (E).
