Olivia Shockley put in more than seven innings of work in the circle, striking out seven Pioneers, but it wasn’t enough as Fort Chiswell took a Mountain Empire win, 5-2.
Blair Jackson threw eight innings for the Fort, striking out 17 and surrendering five hits, nabbing the win.
Jackson helped herself at the plate with a single and a double, scoring one run. Rileigh Dalton had two singles and a double, driving in a run and scoring once.
Samara Sheffey led the Maroon charge with a pair of singles, while Jasmine Faulkner knocked in both of the GW’s runs.
