George Wythe subject of talk tonight

Find out more about the first of the Virginian men to sign the Declaration of Independence and the namesake of George Wythe High School tonight at 5:30 p.m.

The Wytheville Training School Cultural Center will be examining what we know about founding father George Wythe at an in-person and Zoom event. In-person seating at 419 E. Jeff Cartwright will present plenty of information about Wythe, including details on his life, death, legacy and his views on slavery. Cartwright served as an assistant prosecutor in Essex County, New Jersey, and as director of the arson task force for many years.
