GW opens Arby’s with win over Dorman

George Wythe kicked off it’s Arby’s Classic tournament in style, dealing a 56-45 loss to the South Carolina team from Dorman.

The young Maroons, which fell in the state title game last season, are working hard to get back to the hardwood high spot, and showed that with a steady whipping of Dorman.

Dorman, which was a South Carolina state champ, took a 12-10 lead in the opening frame. Undaunted, the Maroons used a 12-6 run to pull ahead by four at the break.

GW added a bit of insurance in the third frame, going up by five points.

In the final frame, though, George Wythe opened up, netting 22 points to close out the game while holding Dorman to just half of that.
