Hurlebaus joins Farm Credit

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV) recently announced Cal Hurlebaus has joined the organization as a lending intern in the Roanoke, Va., branch office.

Hurlebaus spent much of his childhood at Fairfax County, Va., where he developed his love of agriculture. Hurlebaus currently resides in Blacksburg, Va., while attending Virginia Tech. He is majoring in Business Management and Agribusiness. He previously worked as a construction laborer and has some experience doing landscaping.

Growing up, Hurlebaus spent most of his time at his grandfather’s beef cattle operation in Smyth County, Va., but he is looking forward to continue learning about the agriculture industry. He says “I am most excited to learn more about the Farm Credit system, Agriculture lending, and other ways in which Farm Credit supports farmers and rural communities.”

Freddy McGuire, Roanoke IT Support Manager, says, “We are excited to have Cal joining us this summer.  Our team is looking forward to sharing about Farm Credit of the Virginias and getting to know Cal better. Our hope is that Cal has a very rewarding internship this summer!”

Hurlebaus enjoys hunting, fishing, working out, hanging out with friends, and working on his truck in his spare time.
