timelycare Telehealth for Students is coming to Emory & Henry College this fall to ensure that the College meets all students’ healthcare and mental health needs at any hour of the day or night.

“The College selected timelycare Telehealth for Students to serve as a 24/7 virtual extension of campus health and counseling center resources, with the goal of improving student well-being, engagement and retention,” said Travis Profitt, Dean of Student Success. “Mental health is a high priority for our students and campus community. Like many colleges throughout the country, we’ve seen an uptick in demand.”

The service is being added to supplement the robust healthcare and mental health services that the College offers through both the Health Center and Counseling Services. Counseling Services includes three full-time mental health counselors and Gus, the therapy dog.

timelycare offers students same-day availability for virtual visits with healthcare professionals; scheduled counseling sessions for students that fit their busy schedules; advanced psychiatric care including non-controlled substances; and health coaching. timelycare is not billed to a student’s personal insurance plan.

According to timelycare administrators, sixty percent of all students who have sought mental health support through timelycare said they would have done nothing if the service were not available. Founded in 2017, timelycare Telehealth for Students is trusted to serve over a million students at more than 200 campuses nationwide.

“Now more than ever, our students need a support system that is accessible to them during all hours of the day or night,” said Profitt.

Emory & Henry College is offering students timelycare beginning this fall semester for new and returning students to ensure that the College meets all students’ healthcare and mental health needs at any hour of the day. timelycare representatives will be present on the Emory and Marion campuses to provide further information about the service.
