Ignite Program provides career planning to local schools

Through the Ignite Program, United Way of Southwest Virginia provides the individualized career planning and exploration software MajorClarity to more than 30,000 students across Southwest Virginia to help them prepare for the workforce. Melinda Leland, Director of Youth Success, United Way of Southwest Virginia said, “We are happy to announce that six United Way of Southwest Virginia school systems have been named a MajorClarity PowerUser for the 2020-2021 school year.” Those school districts who received the honor are Bristol Virginia Public Schools, Dickenson County Public Schools, Grayson County Public Schools, Pulaski County Public Schools, Radford City Schools, and Wythe County Public Schools.

This recognition goes to schools that have at least 40-50% of all student accounts activated during the school year, at least 50-60% of students return to their account two or more times during the school year, and high staff login rates.
