Kelly leaves animal control post for Grayson Highlands’ pastures

Wytheville Animal Control Officer Kevin Kelly ended his nine-year tenure with the Wytheville Police Department last week, returning to a previous post at Virginia parks.

Prior to his near decade with the WPD, Kelly worked as chief law enforcement ranger at Grayson Highlands State Park. He served in Virginia state parks for 20 years.

In his time in Wytheville, Kelly built relationships with community partners, including local rescue groups, animal welfare groups, veterinarians and volunteers at the Wytheville cat shelter.

Kelly left Wytheville to become the new chief law enforcement officer at Grayson Highlands.
