Marion clobbers Rebels

Jack Ford caught fire for the Hurricanes, netting 29 points as Marion took out Patrick Henry 80-64.

Parker Wolfe wasn’t far behind, dropping in 25 points.

The Canes opened up a 28-17 first quarter and tacked on another point befor the break. A 21-17 third quarter pretty much sealed the deal for Marion.

The Lady Canes pounded Patrick Henry 63-30 behind Ella Moss’ 22-point game. Marion also whipped Northwood 57-10. Aubrey Yarber scored 14 for the Lady Canes and Raegan Burchett notched 13.

The Northwood girls suffered a 43-24 setback at the hands of Tazewell. Summer Turley finished with 11 points for the Panthers at the Danny Jonas Memorial Christmas Tournament.

Northwood fell earlier to Radford in the tournament, losing 71-12.

The Chilhowie boys kept it close but couldn’t close the gap with Elizabethton, suffering a 57-51 loss in the FCA Hoops Classic. Will Goodwin led the Warriors with 19, in a game that saw Chilhowie rally from a 20-9 deficit in the first frame.

The Lady Warriors picked up 18 points from Lexi Williams, but it wasn’t enough as Galax claimed a 56-42 victory.

Graham’s basketball season got going with a big win, taking down Grayson 68-29.
