One of Marion’s downtown businesses has moved. Earlier this year, Helping Hands Thrift Store received notification that its building had sold, and manager Amanda Staley went on a mission to keep the business in the heart of downtown. Now, the shop is set up in their new home, just across the street, and is open and ready for business.
Helping Hands Thrift Store is now located at 116 East Main Street, across from the Lincoln Theatre. But the location isn’t the only thing that’s changed – new inventory arrives almost daily, so savvy shoppers are encouraged to come by often.
Clothing, toys, books, videos, even furniture are staples of Helping Hands. And, as a mission of First United Methodist Church, all proceeds are returned back into the community.
“We are delighted to keep Helping Hands downtown,” said Ken Heath, Marion’s director of Community and Economic Development. “Mandy and all the staff and volunteers are a true blessing to our community, and it’s such a great place!”
Helping Hands Thrift Store is open Wednesday through Friday 10-5, Saturdays 10-1, at 116 East Main, phone (276) 783-7882 for additional information or to donate.
