Panthers edge Grayson in baseball

Northwood edged Grayson County 9-7 on Monday, powered by an eight-hit night.

The see-saw battle kicked off with Grayson plating a run in the first. Northwood went ahead by one in the second, but the Devils took control with a 6-2 lead thanks to a five-run top of the third. The Panthers knotted things up with a four-run outburst in the bottom of the inning.

Northwood plated the go-aheaad run in the bottom of the fifth.

Owen Doane provided a pair of hits for the Panthers. Dyson Briggs knocked in a pair of runs and put in three innings of work on the hill. Tyler Waddle fanned three.
