Ring readies for big battle

The Razor is sharpening for another battle.

Wythe County fighter Robbie Ring has been looking for a challenge and seeking out the best competition in his now-4-0 professional career. He found it.

Ring will take on Clarksville, Tennessee, -native and UFC veteran Jacob “The Killer” Kilburn in marquee matchup for the Aries Amp’d fighting program.

“This is the type of match that defines what Aries Amp’d is all about”, says Aries Matchmaker Tim Loy. “The young lion putting his undefeated record on the line and going after what he wants, and the savvy veteran who doesn’t back down from a challenge and will gladly take another man’s “O” to get himself back where he knows he belongs”.

The fight will take place in Nashville on Aug. 13.

Kilburn, 26, sports an 8-6 pro mixed martial arts record, but don’t be fooled. The string of losses came courtesy of him joining the UFC.

On a four-loss slide now, Kilburn lost in a UFC bout in February 2019 by triangle choke in round two to Billy Quarantillo. In January 2021, he dropped a unanimous decision to Austin Lingo. Last August he fell by switch flying knee in the first round to Brandon Jenkins and in February he lost by injury to Lucas Alexander.
