Warriors pull past Panthers

Chilhowie got past Northwood, 4-3, on Tuesday, led by the bats of D.J. Martin and Jordan Williams. Williams had an RBI and Martin picked up a pair of hits.

Kyle Plemmons tossed a complete game for the Warriors, striking out four. Dyson Briggs had a full game for the Panthers, fanning one.

Seth DeBusk knocked in one run and Nick Prater drove in two. Owen Doane and Michael Frye each had a pair of hits for Northwood.

Chilhowie didn’t leave anything to chance on Wednesday, hammering Patrick Henry 9-1.

Daniel Hutton, Clint Goodwin and Plemmons all provided a pair of hits for the Warriors in the Hogo win. Goodwin drove in three runs. Williams and Plemmons each mapped out a pair of RBIs.

Hutton hurled six innings and change for Chilhowie, striking out six.

On Tuesday, Northwood rallied from an early deficit to best Rural Retreat 10-9. The Indians had erupted for seven runs in the first, but the Panthers chipped at the lead steadily, with Tyler Waddle piling up five hits and four RBIs. Chris Frye had three hits on the night.

Chaz Cassell tossed four and a third innings for the Panthers, striking out three.

Noah Bandrimer led the Indians with three hits and three RBIs. Caleb Robert knocked in a pair of runs. Ryan Newby also had a solid day at the plate.

Roberts and Bandrimer split time on the hill, with Roberts striking out five and Bandrimer fanning three.
