George Wythe, Rural Retreat, Northwood, Chilhowie compete at Judy Thomas

George Wythe’s girls raced to a third-place finish at Saturday’s Judy Thomas Invitational track and field meet, scoring 69 points. Chilhowie and Rural Retreat tied for sixth with 49 points each.

Haley Faulkner hauled home individual gold in the 200-meter dash, posting a 28.15 time. She posted a silver time of 13.89 in the 100-meter dash. Faulkner brought home gold, too in the 4×100-meter relay, teaming with Peyten Thompson, Ava Fowler and McKenzie Tate to finish first with a time of 53.63.

The GW team of Candice Stone, Fowler, Thompson and Tate raced to first in the 1000-meter relay with a time of 2:39.1.

Tate claimed first in the 400 meters, finishing in 1:02.98.

Chilhowie’s Audrey Gilley grabbed second in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 1:05.87. Faulkner took third with a time of 1:06.32. Chilhowie’s Ashley Mixon and Courtney Blevins finished 12th and 13th, respectively. Mixon clocked in at 1:22.78 and Blevins at 1:24.67.

Rural Retreat’s Olivia Crigger claimed a silver and bronze on Saturday. In the high jump, Crigger hit second with a 4-foot, 8-inch leap. Faulkner was sixth in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 2 inches. Crigger was third in the triple jump, hitting 32 feet, 5 inches. Faulkner cleared 29 feet, 6 inches in the triple jump to nap seventh place.

Crigger took fourth in the long jump, clearing 14 feet, 11.7 inches. Faulkner leapt 14 feet, 5 inches to claim the sixth spot.

Chilhowie’s Hannah Manns took sixth in the triple jump, covering a 29-foot, 11-inch gap. Manns finished 10th in the long jump with a 13-foot, 9.75-inch leap.

Chilhowie’s Kayman Atwell finished 12th in the long jump with a 13-foot, 1-inch effort. She was 12th, too, in the triple jump with a 27-foot, 3.5-inch leap. Her teammate, Audrey Gilley, claimed ninth in the triple jump, clearing 27 feet, 11.5 inches.

Rural Retreat’s Jade Streeby claimed eighth in the triple jump, hitting the 29-foot, 4-inch mark. Streeby took 14th in the long jump, leaping 12 feet, 10 inches. Streeby raced to second in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking in at 55.28. Her Indian teammate, Makayla Anderson finished 12th with a time of 1:03.98. Streeby was third in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a time of 19.43. George Wythe’s Ella Richardson came in fifth in the 100 hurdles, clocking in at 19.55. GW’s Peyten Thompson took sixth with a time of 19.87.

Chilhowie’s Tess Somervell nabbed bronze in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:49.14. Atwell, also from Chilhowie, finished in seventh with a time of 2:58.99. Fellow Warrior Kenna Russell clocked in at 3:23.30 to earn 12th.

Rural Retreat’s Madison Fiscus claimed third in the 3200-meter run with a time of 13:10.

Chilhowie’s Atwell, Autumn Green, Russell and Somervell finished second in the 4×400 meter relay, stopping the watches at 5:03.61.

In the 4×100, the Chilhowie team of Green, mann, Atwell and Gilley took third, finishing in 57.08. Rural Retreat’s Anders, Fiscus, Crigger and Streeby finished in 58.46, good for fourth.

Gwen Robbins led the Warriors in the shot put, tossing for 30 feet, 1.5 inches to take fourth. Lakken Hanshew finished in sixth with a distance of 28 feet, 9 inches, and Caitlin Pierce claimed ninth, tossing for 28 feet. In 16th, Cristal Clarke of George Wythe hit the 23-foot, 10-inch mark. Summer Turley of Northwood tossed for 22 feet, 5 inches for 18th place. Her teammate, Abigail Kimberlin, landed a 22-foot, 1.5-inch throw for 21st. George Wythe’s Lianna Dillon wound up in 22nd, hitting 21 feet, 10 inches. In 23rd, Anastasia Kapranos landed a 21-foot, 8-inch toss. With 21 feet, 7 inches, Maria Malavolti of George Wythe was was 24th. Northwood’s Paige Koening wound up in 25th with a 20-foot, 7-inch effort.

Madison Prater of Chilhowie took fourth in the discus, landing an 86-foot, 2-inch throw. Fellow Warriors Lakken Hanshew and Harper Adams finished sixth and 12th, respectively. Hanshew hit 83 feet, 5.5 inches. Adams tossed for 66 feet, 11.5 inches. George Wythe’s Anastasia Kapranso finished in 15th, hitting 58 feet, 1.5 inches. A 54-foot, 2-inch toss put Lianna Dillon of GW in 17th. Cristal Clarke, a fellow Maroon, wound up in 19th with a 51-foot, 5-inch throw. Northwood’s Abigail Kimberlin tossed for 49 feet, 11.5 inches for 20th. In 21st, Paige Koening of Northwood landed a 49-foot, 7-inch throw. Maria Malavolti of George Wythe finished in 24th with a 41-foot, 1-inch effort.

In the 200-meter dash, George Wythe’s Ava Fowler finished ninth, clocking in at 32.48. Manns finished in 12th place, stopping the watches at 33.74. Candice Stone of George Wythe wound up in 13th with a time of 34.01. Chilhowie’s Lauren Manis finished in 38.55 to earn 20th.

In the 100-meter dash, Olivia Crigger of Rural Retreat came in fifth with a 14.20 finish. Fowler was ninth, clocking in at 14.75. Chilhowie’s Autumn Green claimed 11th, finishing in 14.83. In 15th, Makayla Anderson of Rural Retreat, clocked in at 15.50. Northwood’s Abigail Kimberlin finished in 17.56 to take 23rd. Courtney Blevins of Chilhowie posted a time of 17.94 to earn 24th. Chilhowie’s Cierra Kegley was 25th, stopping the watches at 19.66.

George Wythe’s Lianna Dillon cruised to a ninth-place finish in the 1600-meter run, finishing in 9:04.29.
