Washington County plans to idle transfer station for three days

Washington County’s Solid Waste Department announces its intent to close the County’s Transfer Station, for three days, beginning Wednesday, Nov. 8, through Friday, Nov. 10, for maintenance and repairs.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station, located at 14579 Industrial Park Road, is limited to use by County-permitted private waste haulers, public solid waste collection operations and demolition and construction debris removal contractors the Department collects solid waste through a series of Manned Solid Waste Convenience Stations (MCS) located strategically throughout the County and exports the collected waste for disposal out-of-state via the County’s Solid Waste Transfer Station.

The closure is required for repairs needed on the concrete slab inside the transfer station. The Solid Waste Department plans to reopen the County’s Transfer Station on Monday Nov. 12.

All County-Manned Solid Waste Convenience Sites will remain open on their regular schedule during this time.
