Wasp women improve to 4-0 on the pitch

The Emory & Henry College women’s soccer team (4-0) equaled its best start to a season since 2011 with a 4-0 win at Warren Wilson College (0-4). It is also the longest shutout stretch for the Wasps since the final match in 2010 and the first four contests of 2011.

E&H scored twice in the opening 15 minutes of the contest. Freshman forward Camilla Dobraniecki got things started with an unassisted goal while senior forward Callie McMurray made it 2-0 with a score from the left side, assisted by junior midfielder Helen Frazier.

After the break, Dobraniecki extended the Wasps’ margin to 3-0 after receiving a pass from junior defender Sophia Shenberger.
Emory & Henry capped the scoring on a corner kick. Junior midfielder Grace Williams served a ball to the back post which found freshman midfielder Olivia Haynes for the strike into the back of the net.
Junior Natalie Capone and sophomore Asia Baldwin combined for the shutout in goal.
