Wythe County Parks & Recreation staff partnered with Wythe County Buildings & Grounds staff to kick off preparations for the Rural Retreat pool’s summer season. Now that the pool cover has been removed, staff can clean and sanitize the pool over the coming weeks to prepare for opening in late May. A new filtration system has just been installed to reduce labor costs for the pool. The campground and pool are scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend. Updates on the opening will posted on the Wythe County Parks and Recreation Facebook page. Wythe County Parks & Rec is looking for a part-time pool manager, lifeguards and campground staff for the season.
