Wytheville Police Department hires two officers

The Wytheville Police Department is pleased to announce the hiring of two new police officers.

The swearing in ceremony was conducted by the Honorable Dr. Beth Taylor, Mayor of the Town of Wytheville on Feb. 6.

Officer Joe Kincer comes to us from the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office. Officer Kincer honorably served the citizens of Wythe County for almost 24 years. During his time with the Sheriff’s Office he served as a Deputy Sheriff, Detective, and Lieutenant Supervisor over the Detective Division. Officer Kincer brings numerous law enforcement certifications along with his years of experience.

Officer Ashlyn Wilson comes to us from the Wythe County 911 Emergency Dispatch Center. She has served the citizens of Wythe County as a Emergency 911 Dispatcher for two years. Officer Wilson will start her field training immediately, then will attend the next Law Enforcement Academy in July 2023.

We are excited to have both join the Wytheville Police Department.
