Marion secured a 21st-place finish at the Bobby Bates Wrestling Classic held at UVA-Wise and hosted by Wise Central.
The Canes produced one champ, Austin Coe at heavyweight.
Coe got things started with a pin over Greenville’s John Chapman before sticking Konner Whitt in 13 seconds.
Coe also notched pins over Central’s Austin Clevinger and Brendon Mabry of Fort Chiswell.
He claimed a sudden victory overtime win over Emmanuel Balthazar of Patrick Henry-Roanoke.
Northwood finished in 32nd with 15 team points.
