E&H esports team moves on to grand final

The Emory & Henry eSports Overwatch team defeated the University of Delaware Blue Hens four to two moving on to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rivals Division Finals. This is the first time the E&H eSports team makes history moving to the ECAC grand final.

The Wasps took the first map during the match and tied with the Blue Hens for the second map. The back and forth continued with the Blue Hens taking the fifth map and the Wasps taking the sixth map. In the seventh and final map, the E&H team had a great hold on defense. They finished the job on offense to finish off the Blue Hens.

Emory & Henry will take on Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) in the final match of the season on April 17 at 8 p.m. SEMO entered the tournament as the first seed with a 10 to 0 score record. They have yet to drop a map the entire season. Emory & Henry moved to a score of 10 to 1 on the season after their latest win. The Wasps will look to knock off the top-ranked Redhawks in the final match which will be streamed live on the E&H eSports Twitch page at www.twitch.tv/waspesports

“eSports is a rapidly growing industry that is inclusive to both everyone and anyone,” said coach Nathan Magstadt. “eSports takes what people love while playing video games and creates a competition for it. There are no physical limitations to enter and everyone is given a fair and equal chance.”
