Marion’s boys piled up a dozen points but it wasn’t enough to take the Southwest District win on Tuesday night.
The Richlands Blue Tornado plated 14 runs, driving in six in a strong bottom of the second showing. The Blue Tornado took advantage of five Marion errors to stake out the SWD win.
Matt Vipperman led the Hurricanes with three hits. Bradley Thomas chipped in two hits and a matching pair of RBIs. Brady Roberts knocked in three runs for the Hurricanes.
Michael Thompson and Ryan Perkins split time on the hill for Marion, with Perkins fanning three Richlands batters.
