The Wytheville Statesmen claimed game one of the Homestead Series over the Abingdon Blues.
The Statesmen led 7-1 going into the seventh inning, but a late rally pulled Abingdon to within striking distance. The next game will be at the Fairview Homestead Museum in Abingdon on July 10 at 3 p.m.
