Police respond to train/truck crash

Virginia State Police responded to a Wednesday morning crash on April 24 in Washington County.

Police said troopers were called to the intersection of Pairgin Road and Walllace Pike at 8:17 a.m.

Officials said a privately owned truck, similar to a streetsweeper, was crossing the railroad tracks and was hit by a Norfolk-Southern train.

The truck’s operator suffered a minor injury, police said.
